Welcome to the 2022 MapNet conference

Dear colleagues and friends,

Welcome to the MapNet 2022 conference, which will be held online on the 14-16 March 2022 from 9am-3pm each day.

MapNet is running under an aegis of New Zealand-based molecular and quantitative geneticists from organisations involved in genomics related research. Organisations represented through MapNet include Plant & Food Research, University of Otago, AgResearch, Scion (NZ Forest Research Ltd), Environmental Sciences Research Ltd, Livestock Improvement Corporation, Massey University, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, and Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research Ltd. These organisations encompass New Zealand’s health and primary production sectors, as well as conservation genetics. A key driver for MapNet is to co-ordinate scientists from different organisation using common technologies and analytical platforms, to foster the development of multidisciplinary and cross-sector research projects, and to facilitate knowledge exchange between researchers.

This year the programme will focus on diverse and emerging themes; genotyping platforms, analysis platforms and tools, data and machine learning pipelines, interactome, generating genetic resources for analysis, and epigenetics. We welcome mātauranga Māori influenced work, and abstracts submitted in English may be accompanied by Te Reo Māori versions.

Looking forward to see you in March.
