Welcome to the 2021 MapNet conference
Dear colleagues and friends,
Welcome to the MapNet 2021 conference, which will be held at Plant & Food Research Lincoln from 21st-22nd October 2021.
MapNet is running under an aegis of New Zealand-based molecular and quantitative geneticists from organisations involved in genomics related research. Organisations represented through MapNet include Plant & Food Research, University of Otago, AgResearch, Scion (NZ Forest Research Ltd), Environmental Sciences Research Ltd, Livestock Improvement Corporation, Massey University, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, and Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research Ltd. These organisations encompass New Zealand’s health and primary production sectors, as well as conservation genetics. A key driver for MapNet is to co-ordinate scientists from different organisation using common technologies and analytical platforms, to foster the development of multidisciplinary and cross-sector research projects, and to facilitate knowledge exchange between researchers.
This year’s conference will be held in Lincoln, the heart of a large vibrant academic and industrial scientific community. MapNet 2021 will focus on diverse and emerging themes; genotyping platforms, anaylysis platforms and tools, data and machine learning pipelines, interactome, generating genetic resources for analysis, māori-centric and epigenetics.
Registrations for MapNet 2021 are now open. Spaces are limited to 100, so get in quick!
Looking forward to see you in Lincoln,
Samantha Baldwin, Rebecca Bloomer, John McCallum, Margaret Carpenter, Susan Thomson
