Data Science: When Big Data Matter

Plant & Food Research is hosting a two-day Data Science Conference and Workshop in Lincoln on May 25–26, 2017. The question "What is Data Science?" can be difficult to answer as the name refers to a very broad scientific domain. However, a key aim of this event is to bring clarity to some major features within that domain, which include:

  • Big Data
  • Machine Learning
  • Data Mining
  • Visualisation in Computational Analytics

It is intended that this event will encourage the sharing of specialised knowledge and skills within the data science community. We invite all people who have an interest in, or who work in, any area of data science, especially those with a biological focus. This includes biometricians, bioinformaticians, data miners, modellers, and anyone who works with “Big Data”.

Please note: Day two is now at full capacity. You can now only register for day one.
