The Hop Lab Industry Day

New cultivars, with characteristics desired by the craft brewing sector, are an integral component of the New Zealand hop industry. Our cultivars, such as Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, Riwaka, Kohatu and Wai-iti, command premium prices on the global marketplace, and provide brewers with unique flavours and aromas to make their beers stand out in the crowd.

The Hop Lab invites hop growers and craft brewers to tour the Plant & Food Research Motueka site and learn more about the Institute’s hop and beer research.

Discover the chemistry and sensory science behind our new cultivar breeding programme, have a tour of our hop gardens and brewing facilities, join the discussion about where the industry needs to go to meet demand, and end the day by tasting some of our experimental brews.

This is a free event, but spaces are limited so please register early to avoid disappointment.
